Pro jazz bassist to address NAACP unit
NAACP, Unit 6013, will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Webb Community Center, 127 Pleasant St. The 75-year-old civil rights organization will be addressed by Phyllis A. Beard. Beard is a professional jazz bassist, having toured Europe and played in the New York area. Beard holds a master's degree in Education and a bachelor's degree in Music, Stage Performance. She is a lifetime member of the NAACP, Unit 6013.
