A local man remained in custody Tuesday after he reportedly became disorderly on his way to the Garland County Detention Center on Monday, slamming his head against the inside of a patrol unit and threatening deputies.

Travis Shawn Starr, 44, who lists a 145 Witchita Lane address, was arrested at his home at around 9:15 p.m. Monday and charged with misdemeanor terroristic threatening, punishable by up to one year in jail, and disorderly conduct, punishable by up to 30 days in jail.

He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of a $1,500 dollar bond, and is set to appear in Garland County District Court on Sept. 11.

According to the probable cause affidavit, sheriff's Deputy Justin Parker was called to the Witchita Avenue address to assist Sgt. Roy Williams on a disorderly subject call.

Parker said he observed a man, later identified as Starr, standing inside the residence with a ripped, dirt-covered shirt and blood dripping from the left side of his forehead, with a strong odor of intoxicants about him.

Starr was reportedly involved in a verbal dispute with a man inside the residence. When he was instructed to exit the house in order to diffuse the situation, he reportedly refused numerous times.

Starr was then reportedly escorted from the house, but refused to answer questions as to what happened. However, he reportedly proceeded to yell loudly at the resident still inside.

After he was repeatedly asked what happened, he finally turned to Parker and allegedly stated, "I don't know! But what I do know is that I'm going to f - - - your anatomy up!"

Starr was "escorted to the ground" and asked to place his hands behind his back, but refused to comply. He was then escorted to the detention center.

While en route to the detention center, Starr reportedly stated, "You know what happens to you when I get a cut on my head!" He then reportedly proceeded to slam his head against the cage inside the patrol unit.

• Two Jessieville students were injured Tuesday afternoon when their Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck left the roadway in the 200 block of West Strawberry Road and rolled over on its side.

The truck was headed southwest when the driver lost control of the truck and it began "swerving all over the road," a witness said.

"She just came around the corner, the road was wet and she just lost control. (She) did a couple of 360s and ended up in the trees," said Lt. Scott Miser with the Piney Fire Department.

The witness said one of the youths attempted to climb out of the passenger-side door after the wreck, but it slammed shut on top of her.

"(One occupant) was trapped over the side of it, and the door was on top of her. Half of her body was in, half of her body was out. She was trying to push the door open herself and it ended up closing on her, and (the other occupant) was trapped underneath her," the witness said.

Witnesses and passers-by were able to lift the door off of her, while the other occupant climbed out the other side and reportedly collapsed.

Both were transported by LifeNet to an area hospital.
