A Hot Springs woman was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to felony drug charges in Garland County Circuit Court stemming from a traffic stop last year.

Patricia Nicole Woodham, 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver involving methamphetamine and alprazolam, and was sentenced to three years on each count, to run concurrently, while a third count involving cocaine was withdrawn.

According to the affidavit, on Sept. 7, 2016, shortly before 3:30 a.m., Garland County sheriff's Deputy Justin Parker got behind a red Chevrolet Tahoe that was northbound in the 5000 block of Highway 7 south and noted it crossed the fog line multiple times while decreasing speed rapidly.

He made a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Woodham, as Deputy Elwood McConnell arrived to assist. McConnell asked Woodham if she had any drugs in the vehicle or on her person and she said no. When Parker asked her if she had anything he "needed to know about," she said, "I have some stuff in my pocket."

Parker removed a plastic baggie from her pocket containing a crystal-like substance. When asked if she had any more and cautioned she would face additional charges if she tried to sneak something into the detention center, Woodham admitted she had "more stuff" in her bra. Deputies removed another baggie containing a white powder substance.

A search of her vehicle uncovered two bars of alprazolam and a package with about 60 more baggies. A field test revealed the substance in her pocket was meth and the substance in her bra was cocaine.

Woodham was arrested on multiple charges and later released on $5,000 bond. On July 18, she failed a drug test and her bond was revoked and she was arrested again and had remained in custody since then pending trial.

• A habitual offender was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday in circuit court to stealing the debit card of a friend she had stayed with briefly last year.

Shonda Nicole Bosley, 43, of Hot Springs, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of theft by receiving of a debit card and was sentenced to five years on each count, to run concurrent, while a misdemeanor count of fraudulent use of a debit card was withdrawn.

Bosley, who had remained in custody since her arrest March 1, 2017, is classified as a habitual offender having been previously convicted on May 26, 2009, of fraudulent use of a credit/debit card; on Nov. 29, 2010, of possession of a controlled substance, meth; and on July 21, 2015, of possession of a controlled substance, meth, all in Garland County.

According to the affidavit, on March 25, 2016, a local woman filed a complaint with Hot Springs police stating her debit card had been used several times without her permission. She noted her card was used three times on March 24 and two times on March 25, all at Oaklawn Racing and Gaming, 2705 Central Ave., for a total of $715 in transactions.

Detectives obtained security footage from Oaklawn which showed a white female making all five transactions in the gaming room. The victim viewed the footage and identified the woman as Bosley, whom she had allowed to stay at her house a few nights.

She noted Bosley had apparently taken her debit card while she was sleeping, used it at Oaklawn, and then returned it without her knowledge on both occasions. A warrant was later issued for Bosley's arrest.
