The body of an unidentified woman was found early Tuesday morning in a parking lot on Springwood Road, according to Garland County sheriff's Sgt. John Schroeder.
Schroeder said the woman appeared to be around 50 years old, but declined to release her identity. It was unknown Tuesday whether foul play is suspected.
Schroeder said he was unable to comment on the suspected cause of death, but said the body has been sent to the state crime lab.
The body was located by an unknown person around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Springwood. Deputies responded to the scene at 4:30 a.m., and the sheriff's department's Criminal Investigation Division began work a short time later, Schroeder said.
"The sheriff's department is investigating the incident, but we have no further comment at this time," he said.
