Union MBC celebrates Pastor and wife Sunday
Sunday, Union Missionary Baptist Church, 219 Gulpha St., will hold celebration services for Pastor Douglas E. and Sister Gladys M. Jones for 25 years of service to the church and community.
Services will begin at 9 a.m. with ministry presentations. The 11 a.m. service will have the Rev. Kerry Newburn, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Rockford, Ill., as the featured speaker.
The 3:3o p.m. service will feature an old-fashioned "Hymn Fest" featuring: Executive Pastor Frederick Smith, Pastor Kenneth R. Gulley, the Rev. Benny Johnson, Co-pastor Sarah Smith, The McNeely Family, First Baptist Vine, Ken and Pamela Harris and Union Choir. Minister Cheryl Batts will serve as narrator and Pastor Chat Hart will present a summary of the hymns in sermonette.
The church will serve as host to the "Keel/Logan" family reunion of Hope.
The public is welcome to attend all services.
Piney Grove UMC holds VB Confirmation
Vacation Bible Confirmation will be held at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2963 Airport Road from 5-7 p.m. Sunday. Call 767-4765 for information.
VBS at Park Place Baptist Sunday-Friday
Park Place Baptist Church, 721 Park Ave., will hold Vacation Bible School from 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday-Friday for all ages.
Family Night is Friday. There will be music, Bible study, refreshments and crafts.
