Mission Outreach Chapel Inc. will have a Founder's Day Celebration July 29, hosted at The Ark of Praise, 308 Butterfield St.

A festival with games and entertainment will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a program honoring missionary and founder Maggie Turner at 4 p.m. Guest speaker will be Elder Chester McIntyre, of Kansas City, Mo.

Clothing and household items will be given away and lunch will be served.

COGIC convocation at HS Convention Center

The 67th Annual Arkansas Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Holy Convocation will be held July 26-30 at Hot Springs Convention Center. The theme will be "Pursue, Overtake and Recover All."

Superintendent Jerome Strickland will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Bishop D.L Lindsey, prelate emeritus, will be honored with Bishop Jewel R. Withers Jr., prelate of Arkansas First Jurisdiction, speaking. At 7:30 p.m. Friday, the Most Rev. Charles Edward Blake Sr., presiding bishop and chief apostle of Church of God in Christ Inc, will speak.

The Bishop Frank J. Anderson Jr. Picnic will be held at Family Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Arkansas Second Jurisdictional Concert will be held at 6 p.m. in the Convention Center.

Sunday school will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday with the Official Day Service Address at 10:45 a.m. by Bishop Frank J. Anderson Jr., prelate of the Arkansas Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ Inc.

Macedonia Baptist celebrates 90 years

The members of Macedonia Baptist Church, 101 McCurtain St., Mountain Pine, will celebrate the 90th church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. Special guests will be the Rev. W.L. Robinson and members of Gethsemane Baptist Church. The theme will be "Restoring Worship and Building Lives Through the Word of God." A dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m.

St. Phillips COGIC holds Vacation Bible School

St. Phillips Church of God in Christ, 237 Walnut St., will have Vacation Bible School at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The theme will be "Glow for Jesus, By Letting Your Light Shine."

There will be youth and adult classes and refreshments. The public is welcome.
