Peck represents SAU at state Capitol

MAGNOLIA -- Autumn Peck, of Bonnerdale, represented Southern Arkansas University's Student Government Association at the annual Day at Capitol event held in Little Rock on March 2.

Peck is a sophomore Pre-Veterinary Agricultural Science major.

The event was purposed with bringing together students to lobby for increased higher-education government funding in Arkansas, as well as preserving scholarships in hopes of increasing education accessibility across the state.

SAU's SGA representative team was invited to present short statements of their research and considerations in tackling the education funding issue. They delivered statements on the importance of increasing funding, accomplishments of their own student government, as well as goals for the future. The event ended with a tour of the capitol building and a meet-and-greet session with local representatives.
