Piney volunteer firefighter Bryan Carpenter walks into the woods near Sunshine Acres Trail, off Oak Grove Road, on Saturday. Piney and 70 West fire departments responded to a brush fire near the road around noon Saturday. The fire affected 6 acres of land, according to 70 West Fire Chief Autumn Carlisle.
