AACC theatre presents 'Mother Goose Christmas'

LITTLE ROCK -- The 2017-18 Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre season continues this holiday season with "Mother Goose Christmas."

The show runs Dec. 1-17 with a special Pay-What-You-Can preview performance on Nov. 30.

According to a news release, when Memory comes to stay at the Piper house, Bella Piper and her Grandpa Andy are flabbergasted to learn that the girl has never heard of Mother Goose. How can you get to be 8 years old without learning about Mother Goose? Well, Grandpa Andy -- Gandy for short -- makes it his Christmas Eve mission to school young Memory in the ways of that great dame of nursery rhyme fame. With Bella's help and with the aid of a certain magic music box, the three set off on an adventure in Mother Goose's Realm of Romp and Rhyme. It is in this fantasy land that Memory meets Mother Goose and all her nursery rhyme children. But more importantly, she learns that family may be found anywhere and that everyone deserves love, even her.

"Mother Goose Christmas" was written by Keith Smith and directed by John Isner. Bradley D. Anderson is the artistic director. Original music was composed by Lori Isner, set design by James Lyden, properties design by Lauren Ayn Lusk, costume design by Nikki Webster, lighting design by Mike Stacks, and technical direction by Drew Posey.
