Lady Rams, Trojans win tournament games

FORDYCE -- Rebounding from a poor shooting performance against Jessieville, the Lakeside Lady Rams had three players score in double figures in a 55-32 tournament win over Junction City here Saturday.

Thea Rice led the way with 16 points and eight assists while Ashton Patrick added 14 points and Chloe Porter finished with 10. Rice connected on four three-pointers and Patrick and Porter each knocked down two.

Belle Neilson recorded nine points and 10 rebounds for Lakeside while Lindsey Davis chipped in with five points and five assists.

Leading 30-24 at the half, the Lady Rams held Junction City scoreless in the third quarter while scoring 25 points in the second half to secure the win.

Now 5-0 on the season, Lakeside will face Monticello or Parkers Chapel in the tournament championship Wednesday night before traveling to Texarkana on Friday.

Hot Springs-Mills

NORTH LITTLE ROCK -- Outscoring Little Rock Mills 42-9 in the first half, the Hot Springs Lady Trojans cruised to a 61-31 win in the Cold Turkey Thanksgiving Showcase Friday at North Little Rock.

Imani Honey paced Hot Springs with 14 points while Keindia Nevels added 13 and Kiah Beauford and Michelle Harper each scored six.

Lavoya Lewis led all scorers with 15 points for Mills and Jasmine Ellison finished with six points for the Lady Comets.

Holding a commanding lead, the Lady Trojans scored 13 points in the third quarter and six points in the fourth while allowing 22 points in the second half.

Hot Springs improved to 2-0 on the season before resuming conference play against visiting Magnolia Tuesday night at Trojan Fieldhouse.
