A Hot Springs man was arrested Friday after he allegedly assaulted his wife and pushed his juvenile daughter when she attempted to help her mother.

Triston Lee Lane, 20, who lists a Fitzhugh Drive address, was taken into custody at his residence just after 6 p.m. Friday and charged with a felony count of second-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of third-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to one year in jail.

He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of zero bond and is set to appear in Garland County District Court on Sept. 11.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Garland County sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the Fitzhugh Drive residence in reference to a disturbance in progress. The deputy spoke with Lane's wife, who said that an argument between the two of them turned physical when Lane grabbed her by the left arm and dragged her inside.

Once in the residence, Lane allegedly pushed her into a corner, "head butted" her and repeatedly punched her in the back of the head. Around that time, a witness entered the room and reportedly pulled Lane off his wife.

Lane was forced outside by the witness, and locked out of the residence. He reportedly kicked in the front door and grabbed his wife by the hair. She said her 10-year-old daughter attempted to intervene when Lane grabbed her by the right arm and pushed her away.

The witness reportedly pulled Lane off a second time, and the wife was able to call 911. Once Lane heard sirens, he reportedly fled the scene.

The deputy observed large red marks forming on the victim and her daughter.

While speaking with her, another deputy made contact with Lane and took him into custody.
