HSACF names new board members

Hot Springs Area Community Foundation Chairman Charleen Copeland recently announced five appointments to the foundation's board of directors.

• Beau Britton, a graduate of the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, has practiced law in Hot Springs since 2013 and is a partner at Wood, Schnipper & Britton Law firm. A native of Crawfordsville, he is president of the Garland County Bar Association and a member of the Ouachita Children's Center board.

• Minnie Lenox, a Hot Springs native, attended Langston High and Hot Springs High School, Indiana University, GCCC/Quapaw Vocational Technical College and Henderson State University. She has served as the director of human resources for the city of Hot Springs for more than 13 years.

• Bart Newman, a Hot Springs native, is agency manager for Alliance Insurance Group Inc. Newman has been in the insurance profession for more than 39 years and formerly owned Douglass-Newman Insurance Agency before selling the agency to the Alliance Insurance Group Inc. Newman's community service includes Simmons Bank of Hot Springs Board of Directors, Fifty for the Future, Independent Insurance Agents Association of Arkansas, and The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce as a former board chairman.

HSACF also named two new liaison board members who will work with component groups of the Hot Springs Area Community Foundation.

"Leadership roles have recently changed with both the Hot Springs Future Fund and the Youth Advisory Council. These members will attend board meetings and keep the board advised of current activities of the component groups," the release said.

• Cole McCaskill will lead the Hot Springs Future Fund, made up of a group of young professionals wanting to give back to their community.

• Brad Burleson will serve as the lead adviser for Youth Advisory Council group comprised of 9-12 graders from all area school districts who meet monthly to learn and engage in philanthropy in the community.
