Dear editor:
Does a building permit require a job to be completed, including driveways and sidewalks, before a building can be occupied? I'm referring to the unsightly mess in front of McDonald's restaurant at Crawford and Central Avenue.
That mess has been there for months since occupancy. To be fair though, a month or more ago, there was an attempt to fix it. But, the attempt failed, making the mess much worse. The owner of the business next door, to the south, has no doubt been negatively and seriously impacted.
Would any other business get away with that? A deep pockets business? I suspect our city officials don't want to take on a big company with better lawyers.
