RFL of Garland County Survivors Luncheon

Relay For Life has become "the world's largest cancer survivor activity," and this year will be no different. The American Cancer Society would like to honor survivors and their victory over cancer. Survivors in Garland County are welcome to join in for the Relay For Life of Garland County Survivors Luncheon from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Mercy and McAuley rooms at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

Survivors will kickoff Relay For Life of Garland County at 6 p.m. June 1 with a special Survivors Lap, an experience honoring those who have defeated or are currently battling cancer. Survivors will join together to take Relay's opening lap, unified in victory and hope, while the rest of the event's participants surround the track to cheer them on. Immediately following they will be joined by their caregivers for another special lap together.

Relay For Life was founded by Dr. Gordy Klatt in Washington in 1985. The Relay For Life movement is the world's largest fundraising event to save lives from cancer. Uniting communities across the globe, it celebrates people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and take action for lifesaving change.

Those who are a cancer survivor and would like to attend the survivor reception and participate in the survivor lap at Relay For Life, please contact Susan Rima at 501-622-1033 or [email protected] or call the American Cancer Society at 800-227-2345 and register as a survivor.
