Local author Nancy Smith Gibson has announced the release of her latest historical/romance/suspense novel in the series "Tales from the Brazos."

Set in the 1950s, "Mrs. Mommy" is the story of a young woman, Grace Belding, from Mineral Wells, Texas. Upon graduation from TCU, she accompanies her new husband to New York City to be treated for cancer. Unfortunately, he does not survive. She sees no reason to return to Texas without him, and when she helps to calm a toddler throwing a fit in public, his grandfather offers her a job as the child's nanny.

Before long, Grace learns that the grandfather is a famed Mafioso boss. When a war erupts between Mafia families, centering around the little boy she has grown to love, their home is a virtual prison. The grandfather and his attorney furnish Grace with money and fake papers to show the child is her son and send her back to her hometown.

Returning to Mineral Wells, she goes back to the house she lived in growing up. While the log house is being remodeled, Grace and Eddie stay at the Baker Hotel, which is the twin hotel to the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa in Hot Springs.

As Eddie is learning to be a "Texas boy," Grace must watch her tongue and not let the secret slip. When strangers appear in town and attempt to get close to her and her son, she must be especially vigilant. As she starts caring for the deputy sheriff, how can she form a real relationship without telling him the truth? And will the truth destroy the bond they have? But the deputy has a secret of his own.

"Mrs. Mommy" is the fifth novel in the "Tales from the Brazos" series. They are all "stand alone" novels, although a reader will notice characters from one book to another. The sixth in the series, "Not a Husband in Sight," is due for release in March from Soulmate Publishing. These books and others by Gibson are available online at http://www.amazon.com.
