A Pearcy man on parole was arrested on multiple felony charges Thursday afternoon after firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in his possession during a home visit by authorities.

Buddy Lee Harris, 39, of 160 Morphew Road, was taken into custody at his residence around 2:30 p.m. and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison, three counts of possession of firearms by certain persons, punishable up to 20 years, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with purpose to deliver and five felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to six years.

Harris was also charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held without bond Friday and appeared later that day in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, agents John Weaver and Tyler Ward with Arkansas Community Correction told Garland County sheriff's deputies they were doing a home visit on Harris and saw a loaded gun in the bedroom on a night stand beside a wallet belonging to Harris.

Noting that Harris was convicted of a felony in Garland County in 2013 and prohibited from possessing or owning firearms, the agents detained him until deputies could come.

Sheriff's Cpl. Josh Cannon and an investigator with the department's street crimes unit conducted a search of the bedroom where they allegedly found three baggies of suspected marijuana, approximately 5.5 grams, a baggie of suspected meth, approximately 0.2 gram, three glass pipes, two baggies with alleged meth residue, a pipe packed with marijuana, a set a digital scales, a 25-caliber pistol and a .380-caliber pistol, all inside the night stand.

The deputies searched the bathroom and allegedly found a pill bottle containing two capsules later identified as a schedule II controlled substance and a 12-gauge shotgun in the bathroom closet.

Harris was taken into custody at that point on the multiple charges.
