Hot Springs Music Festival donates violin

The Hot Springs Music Festival recently presented a handcrafted American violin, dated 1894 and attributed to noted violin maker George Harvey Blair, of Spokane, Wash., to Stephanie Nehus, superintendent of Hot Springs School District, and Jason Selig, principal of Oaklawn Magnet School.

"We are delighted the generous contributions made by audience members during the recent Festival made this gift possible," said Lynn Payette, executive director of the Hot Springs Music Festival. "We are very grateful to Dr. Nehus and Mr. Selig for their always gracious and generous support and we hope this beautiful instrument will inspire a young student to reach for the stars and perform as a Festival Apprentice one day."

The Hot Springs Music Festival pairs exceptionally talented student musicians from around the world with nationally respected mentors to present two weeks of open rehearsals and nightly concerts. Call 501-623-4763 or visit http://www.hotmusic.org for more information.
