Sheriff's Reserve unit releases May hours

Garland County Sheriff's Reserve Capt. Hank Nowak reports that reserve deputies worked a total of 463 hours in May, including 204 hours in the patrol division.

"Two deputies devoted eight hours apiece one Saturday to the civil division, serving 14 subpoenas, orders to appear, summonses, etc.," Nowak said, noting they also made one arrest on a body attachment from the courts.

The unit, which is comprised of unpaid volunteers, provides support to the sheriff's department's different divisions throughout the year.
