Divine intervention

Dear editor:

It took me a long time to get on the same page as Mary Robinson, Lloyd Hoffman and Donald Cunningham, but I can understand why they believe, as they have stated numerous times, that God elected Donald Trump in 2016.

Yes, I know, he is a man who has taken a vow of marriage three times now and your Bible may frown on the breaking of those prior contracts, but hey, it's the "Art of the Deal." And yes, it's now been admitted he paid a former adult film star $130K for silence on the eve of the election. But hey, again, it's about making a deal for the greater good of our country. Because that's what God would want. And judge not lest ye be judged.

So it's understandable when, a couple of weeks ago, Trump lifted sanctions off the billion dollar Chinese tech giant ZTE, because, as he said himself, "they were losing a lot of jobs." Never mind the fact they've been deemed to have pirated trademark technology or that they were actually accused of cloning cellphones that went to our military in a sweetheart contract. Trump pledged, in his campaign, to be the "greatest jobs creator God ever created." He never specified it would be U.S. jobs. He's a man of equality, a global jobs creator.

And it has to be a mere coincidence that within 48 hours, the Chinese government issued a guaranteed $500 million loan to Trump Properties Inc. to jump-start a huge project in Thailand.

No, I'm with Lloyd, Mary and Donald (Cunningham) now; God instructed Trump that this was the right thing to do and then God instructed the Chinese leaders that the loan was the right thing to do.

We are in good hands.
