Dear editor:
In the '70s, I attended the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy while in the Air Force.
They informed us that there were things that the general American public was not aware of.
This included that the huge S.S. surplus was used to start the Interstate Highway System and the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) which built dams to provide hydroelectric power to America.
There was no mention of any intent to pay it back to the S.S. fund.
Just letting you know.
