Bismarck man killed in one-vehicle wreck

A Bismarck man was killed and two others injured Tuesday evening in a one-vehicle wreck on Thornton Ferry Road, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary.

Kevin C. Burks, 28, of Bismarck, the driver of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck, was reportedly northbound on Thornton Ferry around 6 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left and lost control, with the pickup coming to rest upside down in the northbound ditch.

Burks, and two passengers, Ashley J. Murray, 23, of Arkadelphia, and Kara Y. Armstrong, 26, of Lepanto, were all injured in the crash and Burks later died from his injuries.

LifeNet's AIR 2 and Survival Flight each responded, landing in the parking lot of the Harps Food store at Thornton Ferry and Highway 270. The report said the injured were taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

The report notes conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
