Wolves win meet in final event

BENTON -- A victory in the 4x400-meter relay Thursday in a track meet a Benton High School gave Lake Hamilton's boys' team first-place out of 13 teams at the meet.

The Wolves trailed Conway 98.33-98 to start the relay, which was the final event of the day. Haze Farmer, Knowledge Hood, Colby Swecker and Cody Weldon ran a time of 3:28.14 to take 10 points and first place. Conway finished fifth at 3:42.22 and received four points.

Lake Hamilton finished with 108 points. Conway was second at 102.33. Jessieville placed ninth at 24.50.

The Lady Wolves were fourth out of 15 teams with 61 points. Sylvan Hills

Skylar Davis, Dylan Stephens, Swecker and Weldon also took first place in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 8:17.24. Swecker took first place in the 800-meter run at 2:01.50, while Davis placed third at 2:03.52.

Swecker was second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:34.30. Jessieville senior Noah Eskew finished fourth at 4:36.46.

Hood won the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.86 and took third in the 200-meter dash at 0:23.50.

Farmer won the pole vault event at 16-6. Michael Harris finished second at 14-6.

Edie Murray gave the Lady Wolves their only win of the day at 12-6.25 in the girls' pole vault. Murray also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 0:27.39.

Teammate Grace Cole placed second at 11-6. Stockard King earned another four points in fifth place at 8-6.

Senior Josie Carson, an Arkansas Razorback commit, took second place in the girls' 1600-meter run with a time of 5:21.23. Benton's Gracie Hyde ran a time of 5:16.33. Morgan Pruitt picked up another two points for the Lady Wolves in seventh place at 5:50.78.

The Wolves' Jackson Galster ran a time of 42.03 to finish second int he 300-meter hurdles.

Adam Miller earned another eight points for the Wolves with a second-place distance of 130-8 in the boys' discus throw.

Eskew won the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:05.66, barely ahead of Vilonia's J.D. Otts' time of 10:05.67. Lake Hamilton's Ramon Morales placed third at 10:11.57, while Jessieville's Jake Carter was fourth at 10:23.93.

Lake Hamilton's Skylar Hall ran a time of 0:17.05 in the girls' 110-meter hurdles to place fourth. Baylee Jenkins ran a fourth-place time of 1:03.42 in the 400-meter dash.

Adam Albrecht placed fifth in the boys' high jump at 5-10. Jessieville's Jacob Bearden tied for sixth at 5-8.

Jenny Peake placed sixth in the girls' high jump at 4-10, while Anacaron Ramos also placed sixth in the 800-meter run. Ramos ran with Meighan Mears, Katherine Scalzo and Madison Mears for a sixth-place time of 11:06.28 in the 4x800-meter relay.

Events for the junior high division of the Lake Hamilton Relays was held on Monday. Competition in the senior high division will begin at 3:30 p.m. today with participants from Benton, Camden Fairview, Hot Springs, Lake Hamilton, Lakeside and Nashville.
