Guinn to SAU

The Sentinel-Record/Richard Rasmussen Hot Springs senior Ariana Guinn, front center, signed her national letter of intent on Friday at Trojan Fieldhouse to play college basketball for Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. With Guinn, in front, are Tashiba Banks, left, and her step-father James Banks, and back, from left, Hot Springs head coach Josh Smith, her aunt Loretta Denton, her cousin Ayden Payne and assistant coach Nikki Natt. Honey was recently selected to the Arkansas High School Coaches Association all-star basketball roster after averaging 18.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game as the Lady Trojans went 31-3, won the 5A-South conference championship for the second year in a row and won the Class 5A state championship at Bank of the Ozarks Arena. Guinn and teammate Imani Honey were named The Sentinel Record's 2018 Girls Basketball Co-Players of the Year and First Team All-Garland County. Smith was selected as The Sentinel-Record's All-Garland County 2018 Winter Sports Girls Coach of the Year.
