Help place flags on veterans' grave Saturday
At 11 a.m. Saturday, the auxiliary to VFW 2278 will place American flags in Greenwood Cemetery. All members are encouraged help place American flags at each grave site of a veteran. Everyone who cares about these veterans is welcome to help. Just show up and join Lise' Huckaby, Americanism chairman, at the main entrance to the cemetery at 702 Greenwood.
Greenwood is growing and each year and there are new veterans that need a flag. If unable to attend but would like to make a contribution to the Americanism Program, call Auxiliary Treasurer Karlene Beams at 501-762-2001 for information on how to contribute or more information about this project. This is an opportunity to be of service and show gratitude for the dedication of these veterans on Memorial Day. If there is a youth group looking for a project, this is a perfect opportunity.
EHC yard sale Friday and Saturday
The Loyal Ladies Extension Homemakers Club will host a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 130 Green Acres Circle, of Buena Vista Road. Proceeds to benefit the club's charities.
WCoC Annual Scholarship Awards dinner Thursday
The annual Women's Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Awards will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, 105 Village Road. Meet the 2018 scholarship recipients and see what Women's Chamber of Commerce is all about.
