A former employee of a local business was arrested late Friday for allegedly stealing over $19,000 worth of items from the business earlier this year.

Randall Scott King, 51, who lists a North Little Rock address, was taken into custody shortly after 9 p.m. Friday on a felony charge of theft of property over $5,000, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He was being held on a $3,500 bond and is set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Aug. 31, an employee of Berry Global, 106 Delta Place, reported a theft by a former employee, identified as King, who could be seen on security video stealing items from the company.

The stolen items included various sizes and types of metal, bronze and brass pipes and pipe fittings, a 6-volt Trojan battery, and 60 items described as "lower plunger keys." The keys alone were reportedly valued at $18,600 with the total loss from the thefts estimated at $19,658.27.

The affidavit states after management was made aware of the thefts and reviewed the security video, King was contacted by phone and confronted about the allegations. King allegedly admitted to stealing the items in question.

Garland County sheriff's investigators spoke to a company engineer who stated King could be seen on the video carrying property out of the building on more than one occasion and putting the items into his vehicle parked in the company lot.

Investigators also reviewed the video which "clearly displays" King loading company property into a container and then placing the container in his vehicle. They also interviewed two members of management who reportedly confirmed King had admitted to the thefts to them.

A warrant was issued for King's arrest on Sept. 12 and he was reportedly initially taken into custody in Pulaski County and then transported to Garland County.
