A felon was arrested on multiple felony charges late Saturday after allegedly threatening people at gunpoint and fleeing from a Garland County sheriff's deputy.

Jeremy Allen Collier, 36, who lists a Chickweed Trail address in Jessieville, was taken into custody shortly before 10:30 p.m. and charged with two felony counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and felony fleeing in a vehicle, punishable by up to six years.

Collier was also cited for careless and prohibited driving, reckless driving, two counts of driving left of center, two counts of improper passing on the left, no or expired driver's license, no liability insurance and defective vehicle lights.

He was being held on bonds totaling $13,500 and appeared Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, sheriff's Cpl. Jon Lane was dispatched to the 700 block of Ellison Road regarding a known suspect, identified as Collier, threatening someone with a 44-magnum revolver and a sawed-off shotgun.

The caller said Collier left in a white Cadillac with the passenger side taillight "busted out."

While en route to the call, Lane said he spotted a Cadillac matching the description at Strawberry Road and Highway 7 north and turned around to pursue it, activating his lights and siren to make a traffic stop.

As soon as the Cadillac driver saw the deputy's unit, Lane said he "sped up to in excess of 100 mph, running cars off the road and passing on the centerline with no regard for the safety of others."

The Cadillac turned up a long driveway in the 6000 block of Highway 7 and finally stopped "just before hitting the house at the end of the driveway." Lane said he got out and ordered the driver, identified as Collier, to the ground at gunpoint.

Sgt. Jeremy Simpson arrived to assist and they took Collier into custody without further incident. A computer check showed he had an active felony warrant for theft by receiving.

Deputies searched Collier's vehicle and saw "in plain view" a Ruger 44-magnum on the center armrest and a sawed-off Remington 870 shotgun between the armrest and passenger seat. Both guns were found to be loaded.

A further computer check revealed Collier was convicted of a felony in 2013 in Garland County so he was prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms. The incident was still under investigation on Monday.
