Photographer to showcase Village wildlife

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Nancy Jo Uggla, a Hot Springs Village resident who operates Nature's Treasures Wildlife Photography, will present the program "Photographing Birds and Critters in the Village" at Thursday's Hot Springs Village Audubon meeting.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Coronado Center. There is no charge to attend the meeting, and visitors are welcome.

Uggla moved to the village in 2005 after spending 31 years in the field of special education in the Chicago northwest suburbs. She always had a love of photography, but it wasn't until she moved here that she was able to devote her time to capturing images and starting her photography business, a news release said.

Uggla was "absolutely astonished by the awesome beauty that nature provides our residents, and she has set up a full wildlife habitat on her property, where she is able to photograph birds and other critters at their best," the release said.

Uggla is a supplier of wildlife photography to the Arkansas State Parks. Her work has been published over 80 times in both national and local publications. Her photos are also on display this month in the lobby at Woodlands Center.

On Thursday, Uggla will share tips on photographing birds and mammals, opportunities and types of photography, and share stories about specific animals who are showcased in her photos.
