All-State Music Conference underway

Hundreds of choral, band and orchestra students from across the state will converge on the Hot Springs Convention Center this week for the Arkansas All-State Music Conference.

The conference is hosted annually by the Arkansas Choral Directors Association and the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association.

According to a schedule on the ASBOA website, rehearsals and clinics began today throughout the convention center and other locations downtown. All concerts, conducted by choral and instrumental clinicians from across the country, are open to the public, with the first taking place today at 7:30 p.m. in Horner Hall.

On Friday, performances by the Intercollegiate Choir and Intercollegiate Band will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., in Halls A and D, respectively.

On Saturday, concerts will begin at 10:45 a.m., with choir concerts held in Hall A of the convention center and band and orchestra concerts in Bank OZK Arena and Horner Hall.
