A Hot Springs man was arrested on felony warrants Tuesday afternoon for allegedly ramming another man's car last month following an altercation.

Nick Austin Rowland, 38, who lists a Holy Spirit Lane address, was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m. and charged with aggravated assault and first-degree criminal mischief, each punishable by up to six years in prison.

Rowland, who also had a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear, was later released on $6,000 bond and is set to appear Feb. 26 in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Jan. 10, Rowland and another man reportedly became involved in an altercation at CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic, 100 Werner St. The other man, who works for Quality Air Care, removed himself from the situation and left the scene in a company vehicle, a tan 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

While still on Werner Street, the man saw a black passenger car approaching him at a high rate of speed. He pulled into the CVS Pharmacy, 3630 Central Ave., and the black car followed him into the parking lot.

The black car allegedly rammed the rear of the van with enough force to push it 20 feet. The suspect vehicle, a black 2003 Hyundai Elantra, drove a loop through the lot at high speed before fleeing the property.

The man was shown a photo lineup and reportedly identified Rowland as the driver of the Hyundai. The owners of the van provided a written estimate to Hot Springs police listing damages at $2,002.81.

Felony warrants were issued for Rowland's arrest on Jan. 22. On Tuesday, shortly before 4:30 p.m., officer Richard Davis responded to the 400 block of Mississippi Street regarding a reportedly wanted person being behind a residence there.

Upon arrival, he was given the description of the suspect in question and located a man, identified as Rowland, and after confirming he had two warrants he was taken into custody without incident.
