A local woman was arrested on a felony drug charge after a large quantity of meth was allegedly found hidden in her bra following a traffic stop early Wednesday.

Maya Ann Martinez, 21, who lists a Pleasant Valley Street address, was taken into custody shortly before 3:30 a.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance, meth, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and cited for having no liability insurance, no driver's license and fictitious tags.

She was being held on a $5,000 bond and was set to appear Wednesday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 3 a.m., Hot Springs police Sgt. LeeAnn Zaner saw a white Jeep Laredo northbound in the 2900 block of Central Avenue and noted the license plate was fictitious.

As she got behind the vehicle, it made "a sudden, erratic turn" into the parking lot of Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, 2705 Central. Zaner initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle accelerated and ran over a curb before finally stopping.

Zaner made contact with the driver, identified as Martinez, and three male passengers and noted Martinez had her head in her hands and was "rocking back and forth." She reportedly had only an Arkansas ID and no vehicle paperwork.

Zaner noted Martinez was "violently shaking," and while attempting to light a cigarette her behavior was alarming so Zaner had her step out of the vehicle. Zaner asked for consent to search Martinez and she agreed and Zaner noted "a large bulge on the left side of her bra."

When Zaner asked about the bulge, Martinez allegedly made an evasive move to move away. Zaner reportedly found a lighter and baggie with two large crystal rocks which later tested positive for meth, 16.2 grams, or over half an ounce.
