A local felon being sought on felony warrants was arrested early Tuesday on multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from a Garland County Sheriff's deputy and fighting with the deputy following a vehicle pursuit.

Jerry Sean White, 27, who lists a Blacksnake Road address, was taken into custody shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and charged with a felony count of fleeing in a vehicle, punishable by up to six years in prison, and misdemeanor counts of driving on a suspended driver's license, resisting arrest, reckless driving, speeding more than 15 mph over the limit, fictitious tags and operating a vehicle with no or expired tags.

White was also cited for careless and prohibited driving, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to use a turn signal, no liability insurance and driving left of center. He had two felony warrants for failure to appear for Garland County Circuit Court hearings stemming from his arrest Feb. 28, 2019, for felony fleeing, two counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

He remained in custody Tuesday on zero bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit regarding Tuesday's arrest, shortly after midnight, Deputy Tyler Wagner was patrolling in the area of Huddleston Springs Road approaching the intersection with Mountain Pine Road when he got behind a black Jeep Cherokee and a computer check showed the license plate was fictitious.

He attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle turned onto Mountain Pine Road and began to flee, he said, noting he saw a white male driver and white female passenger in the vehicle.

As the pursuit continued, Wagner noted the Jeep veered into oncoming traffic five times on Mountain Pine Road and three more times after turning onto Cedar Glades Road. He also noted the Jeep ran off the road on the right side three times while on Cedar Glades.

The pursuit continued to the 100 block of Porter Lane where the driver, later identified as White, finally stopped and jumped out and ran. Wagner chased him on foot and caught up to him, deploying his Taser at White's abdomen area, with one barb making contact with his leg. While attempting to handcuff him, White allegedly began fighting the deputy.

After a brief struggle, the deputy was able to take White into custody. LifeNet responded to evaluate White due to the deployment of the Taser and his injuries but he was eventually taken to the Garland County Detention Center.
