WATCH | Beyond the Diamond with the Lake Hamilton Lady Wolves’ Abigail Dalton

Lake Hamilton High School senior outfielder Abigail Dalton has been a difference-maker for the Lady Wolves softball team this season. Head coach Amy Teague said Dalton has a great personality and is a dual-threat player.

Dalton recently met with The Sentinel-Record to give people a glimpse into what she is like beyond the diamond. Dalton is also a pitcher and a right-handed hitter. Her walkout music is "Can't Stop," by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

What do you like most about playing softball?

I just love the people. I love that even though a lot of it is an individual work effort, where you actually have to play the sport, there is always teammates there for you and there is always people that will help you out.

What is your most memorable moment playing softball, even going back to when you were a kid?

I used to play in Optimist and I used to be really good at hitting in Optimist. One time they went ahead and put (intentionally walked) me to first base because they did not want me to hit, and my dad threw this big fit.

Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?

We try not to touch the white lines.

Who is your all-time favorite athlete in any sport?

Emma Hayes. She played for the Nighthawks and then she moved to a different college.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of sports?

I enjoy painting and I also play beach volleyball and normal volleyball on the side.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Definitely a night owl; I cannot get myself to do anything in the mornings.

If you could hang out with any famous person, past or present, for a day, who would that be?

I have heard Stan Lee is a fun guy.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go?

Colorado

What is your favorite restaurant and favorite meal?

I enjoy Olive Garden; dinner time definitely goes along side with that.

What one person is your biggest inspiration?

My parents; they help me a lot with a lot of things and they help me do the thing that I want to do and they are just great people.

What is the last book you read or are currently reading?

"It," by Stephen King.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Just do your best, and that mistakes really lead you to do better.

What is the last television series that you binge-watched, or are currently watching?

"Stranger Things."

Who is your celebrity crush?

Tom Holland

What is your all-time favorite movie?

"Pitch Perfect."

Who are some of your favorite social media influencers, or favorite accounts that you follow?

I do not have anyone in particular. I follow a lot of art channels and I enjoy scrolling through and looking at the art.

What band or musical artist have you been listening to lately?

I am a big fan of Doja Cat.

Name something about you that most people would be surprised to learn.

I do not look like it but I like to be very competitive.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Singing out loud.

What is your favorite class in school?

I am a big fan of literacy.

What are your plans for after graduation and what type of career do you plan to pursue?

I plan on doing architecture at Louisiana Tech.
